January 2012

k2772608.jpgTip  ... amazing how many ask whether they should left click or right click!

For PC users, Left-click results in 'I want to do this'. Right-click results in viewing a list of what you can do. Then left-click on what you want to do.

If you are using an Apple/Mac you need to know how that works. Click here for a reference page that may help.

The Team got together on 23 January for our Annual 'Planning' Day. David and Greg flew in from Melbourne and we welcomed on board Paul Rushton who has moved with his family from Melbourne to the Sunshine Coast. Phil called in from Latvia. A very productive day prioritising our development for 2012 with immediate focus on enhancing the Appointment Form to accommodate more detail for Theatre Bookings.

Enjoyed a great feast/celebration at www.spirithouse.com.au ... we ensured Phil knew how good it was!

We also welcome Paul Fitzgerald who is working with us in Sales and Marketing.

Latest Update on Fees

Ensure you have the latest fees by going to Utilities - Update Fees. WorkCover NSW Fee Update became effective as of 1 January (no need to run the Update to get these). However, if billing for WorkCover Victoria ensure you do run the Update as those fees arrived in late.

Statutory Reporting for the Defence Health Fund (DHF or AHB)

Defence Health’s Participant ID for Medical Billing is DHF (Defence Health Fund). However, for those of you doing In Hospital Claims and Statutory Reporting, you need to use the Participant ID AHB. Defence Health Fund was formally known as  Army Health Benefits Society (AHB).

The reason for this is that AHSA use DHF for The Doctors Health Fund for In Hospital Claims. No idea why they do not use AMA as does The Doctors Health Fund for Medical Billing.

So for those of you billing both Medical and Hospital Stays, you will need to add Defence Health twice in Contact Management - Insurers Companies and select the relevant one for billing. We have asked for Consistency of IDs to be tabled at the next Hospital Working Group Meeting.

90 Day Pay Doctor Cheque Scheme

Please note that if you lodge Patient Claims from Direct CONTROL you are eligible and do not have to apply. However, if you post the account to the patient and they lodge the claim and receive the cheque from Medicare and do not forward it on to you, the cheque is not cancelled by Medicare and the monies are not deposited into your bank account.
